ince 2014, Academia in Motion has hosted a summer retreat for students ages 11-18.
Students come together for a 3-4 overnight stay at a camp site or hotel. The retreat consists of
presentations from college representatives and other career related professionals. Registration
is open to anyone, there are no specific criteria. The students love meeting new friends, gaining
information, interacting with the facilitators and having lots of fun! Our retreat held in 2017 welcomed over 120 students.
The scholarship gala is a very special event for our organization. It is a time to honor the
founder’s mother who was a champion for education. During the gala, we recognize all of the seniors who are a part of our program, as well as provide those eligible with scholarships. We encourage all AIM Ambassadors and their parents to support this annual event by purchasing an ad, tickets or making a donation.
Community Service
Ambassadors will participate in community service opportunities and projects throughout the year. Although we encourage you to participate as much as possible, we highly encourage everyone to participate during the Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks, if schedule permits.
